Great People Doing Great Things: Compact U/S
Dr. Carlos Paz, a respected radiologist in Honduras, along with his wife Mrs. Giselle Downing de Paz, recently traveled with GEs LOGIQ e on a mission to bring healthcare to a rural community near Lempira. Lempira, with a population of 100,000, is one of the poorest and most isolated regions of Honduras. It has several small communities, with some of the largest concentrations of Native Indian populations in Honduras. Using a local school as a makeshift clinic, Dr. Paz was able to diagnose a number of community members, some waiting more than 8 hours to be seen. Three patients were diagnosed with breast cancer and referred to the nearest hospital for treatment. We at GE Healthcare, commended Dr. Paz and his team for traveling to such great extent in order make healthcare accessible for everyone; truly an example of Healthcare Re-imagined.
